Store bought avocado spread is filled with preservatives that keeps the avocado from turning brown right away. When you use fresh ingredients, the avocado will inevitably turn brown after being exposed to air. You can store this avocado appetizer dip in an airtight container with some lemon juice brushed over the top. This way, leftover dip can keep from turning brown for several hours or up to a day. You can learn more about keeping avocados fresh here.
The best way to ensure freshness of this avocado spread would be to enjoy it right away. When exposed to air, avocado doesn’t last long before turning brown.
This avocado spread is seasoned with salt, black pepper, fresh garlic, and hot sauce. You can add fresh cilantro leaves or green onion if you’d like some extra flavor. I enjoy lemon juice in my avocado appetizer for a gentle citrus flavor. Fresh lime juice can add a nice tangy touch.

Health Benefits of Avocados
What I love about avocados is that they are easy to work with, they taste great but most of all, for their nutritional benefits. You can feel good about eating avocados since they come with a long list of healthy benefits.
Some which include:
- Heart-healthy fatty acids that can help with inflammation.
- Antioxidants that can assist in eye health.
- Avocados contain more potassium than bananas.
- Rich in fiber, which is important to keep the metabolism healthy.
Avocados are not a medical food, and can’t fix all of your health concerns or issues. They are known to be one of the healthiest fruits, however. Studies have shown that people who eat avocados daily are healthier. So, why not add this green creamy fruit to your healthy lifestyle?
How to Make Avocado Spread Appetizer:
To make a simple and flavorful creamy avocado spread, you will need:
Avocados: Ripe! The best party dip is with a good and ripe avocado. I prefer using a Hass avocado for this dip.
Red onion is rich in quercetin and adds a light tangy flavor to this dip. It’s one of those basic ingredients that is a great addition no matter which recipe it’s in.
Garlic will boost the flavors of this dip
Lemon juice: Freshly squeezed from a lemon.
Hot sauce to spice things up! You can add as much as you can handle or none at all.
Salt and Pepper to taste
As a topping, you will also need tomatoes. These simple ingredients are put together very easily.
