Perfect way to start your busy day. It will get you the energy and help you feel full until lunch.

Why You will Love This Yogurt Parfait Recipe So Much

What has yogurt, oats, fruit, and honey, and is the best breakfast choice? That’s right; it’s a yogurt breakfast parfait! With crunchy Granola, protein-filled plain greek yogurt, sweet berries, and a touch of honey on top, no one stops you from making this as a breakfast every day.

It’s a healthy start to my day. I find that if I start my day off with a healthy breakfast option, I am more mindful about what I eat throughout the rest of the day. And this recipe is wonderfully healthy and keeps me energized and craving real ingredients all day long.

It’s so easy to make. Honestly, there’s not even much “making” that goes on here. It’s all about layers and combining ingredients.

It is so versatile! You can use your favorite toppings and ingredients in this recipe to make it truly “yours.” There are so many ways to layer it up. Yogurt or Granola first? Maybe fruits can go under the Granola, and then a drizzle of honey to top it off. This healthy breakfast option has endless combinations.

Just a few ingredients to Make Your Own Yogurt parfait:

Granola: Crunchy protein

Yogurt: Greek yogurt- preferably organic grass-fed and less sugar. Greek yogurt provides your body with the perfect source of protein. And that is very important in breakfast because it will boost energy and keep you full longer.

Fruit: Banana (vitamin c), strawberry, or berries of your choice.

Honey: Optional drizzle, little sweetness.

Out of all of the granola parfaits recipes, you’ll see that none is easier to make than this one. It’s so simple.

Let’s Talk About Granola.

What is Granola?

Crunchy Granola is normally made of oats, nuts, seeds, and occasionally sweeteners. The sky is the limit with options like walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, and cashews! To sweeten, I’d recommend honey, maple syrup, or agave.

You can make your Granola at home or use a half cup of Granola from the store. It’s one of those crunchy toppings that are wholesome and good since it’s made of great ingredients! For me, the best granola recipe would have some flaxseed and chia seeds. They are rich in magnesium and choline. If you make your own homemade Granola, you can ensure that it’s organic and has only the best ingredients that you love.

FAQ

What yogurt should I use? Yogurt has come a long way in recent years. Gone are the days where your only options were regular, low-fat, or vanilla flavored yogurts. There are so many options out there. But many of the “fruit” flavored yogurts are packed with sugar. I made the mistake of bringing those yogurts home a few times before realizing they’ve got just as much sugar in them as a candy bar.

Instead, only plain yogurt enters my home. I just dress it up with whole ingredients to custom tailor it to my taste buds.I didn’t specify that Greek yogurt was to be any flavor, but you can use vanilla Greek yogurt, vegan Greek yogurt, plain Greek yogurt, or even dairy-free yogurt. Any one of these options will make this healthy dessert the breakfast of champions.

What fruits should I put in my yogurt parfaits? Always use fresh fruits. Like fresh blueberries, fresh strawberries, raspberries, and peaches. Those are just a few ideas, you could use whatever fruit you have on hand.

Can I make this granola parfait gluten-free? For sure! I like to use this gluten-free pre-made granola from Bob’s Red mill (not an affiliate, just like the brand). Also, you could make your own granola.

Do I have to add the granola? No, you could just make a fruit and yogurt parfait and skip the crunch.

How to store yogurt parfait? Keep in the fridge till ready to eat. Leftovers should also be kept in the fridge.

The Perfect Breakfast… or Dessert!

This filling breakfast doesn’t have to be limited to mornings, oh no. You can whip it up as an afternoon snack, a leisurely lunch dessert, or an after-dinner treat. It’s super easy to make, and I recommend making it ahead of time but wait to put the Granola in until ready to enjoy. Soggy Granola just isn’t the same. Packaging it separately and then adding it on top is the best option. It’s a great choice to have as a healthy snack.

Yogurt Parfait is proof that you can have delicious, fruity yogurt in no time without grabbing the ones of those supermarket shelves.
