This Pecan Torte with Chocolate Glaze is a perfectly textured cake made with chopped pecans, eggs, sugar, flour, and vanilla. Serve it with some fresh cream for an over-the-top taste.
Pecan Tortes was always one of my favorite desserts growing up. There was something extra special about eating this textured cake after dinner. Every time, it hit the spot just right. I’m so happy I can share this recipe with all of you.

How to make this tasty Pecan Torte
Step 1: Preheat the oven
Preheat the oven to 350F. Spray or butter the cake pan (I used a 9″ spring form pan). You can use parchment paper if you’d like.
Step 2: Dry Ingredients
Mix the dry ingredients: nuts, baking powder, salt and flour.
Step 3: Butter and Sugar Mix
Using an electric mixer, beat the softened butter then add half of the sugar. Keep beating until creamy.
Step 4: Adding the Eggs
Add in egg yolks one at a time and continue beating.
Step 5: Mix the Egg Whites
With an electrical mixer, mix the egg whites with the rest of the sugar and vanilla extract, till white and fluffy.
Step 6: Add the Egg Whites
Using a large spatula, fold in the fluffy egg whites into the butter and sugar.
Step 7: Combine Wet Ingredients with the Dry Ingredients
With a spatula, add in the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients (nuts, flour and baking powder).
Step 8: Bake
Put into the greased prepared pan and bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
For the chocolate glaze:
Step 1: Melt chocolate
Over a barely simmering pot of water, place a bowl on top and melt the chocolate.
Step 2: Add butter
Add in unsalted butter and melt.
Step 3: Add vanilla and cream
Turn heat off and whisk in 1 tsp vanilla extract and heavy cream until glossy.
Step 4: Pour over the cake
Pour the chocolate glaze over the cooled cake and it is ready to enjoy!

- 2 Tbsp heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla (optional)
Instructions
