Brown Rice

Brown rice is a base to many Asian dishes and in a few simple steps, you can make this perfectly fluffy brown rice for your meals!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • cup water
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  • Rinse the rice in a strainer beneath running water. Let it drain.

  • Place 1 cup of brown rice with 2½ cups of water and ¼ teaspoon salt in a pot.

  • Allow the mixture to reach a soft boil.
  • Cover with a tight-fitting lid and place on low heat for 45-50 minutes.

Notes

The ratio of water to rice will change depending on the type of rice you are using. For this long grain brown rice, use a ratio of 1 cup of rice to 2.5 cups of water.
