Rinse the rice in a strainer beneath running water. Let it drain.
1 cup rice
Place 1 cup of brown rice with 2½ cups of water and ¼ teaspoon salt in a pot.
1 cup rice, 2½ cup water, ¼ tsp salt
Allow the mixture to reach a soft boil.
Cover with a tight-fitting lid and place on low heat for 45-50 minutes.
Uncover and let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork and enjoy!
Notes
The ratio of water to rice will change depending on the type of rice you are using. For this long grain brown rice, use a ratio of 1 cup of rice to 2.5 cups of water.
