Russian Braised Cabbage Recipe (Тушеная капуста)
Braised cabbage is a wonderful healthy dish but can also be added into Braised Cabbage Piroshki.

cabbage,
shredded

carrot,
grated

onion,
chopped

tomato paste

Instructions
Shred cabbage into a bowl. Chop the onion and grate the carrot, then set aside in a separate bowl.
In a pan, melt the butter and add the cabbage. Saute for 1 minute.

Add in the onion and carrot. Stir.

Add in salt (I use sea salt) and tomato paste.
½ tsp salt,
3 Tbsp tomato paste
Over low heat sauté all together, stirring occasionally.
After 10 minutes, the cabbage will be ready to eat. You may add salt to your taste if needed.
Notes
Remove any damaged or discolored outer leaves from the cabbage and trim the stem before braising.
