A quiche is an unsweetened custard pie-like dish with savory fillings. It usually has to have eggs, milk or heavy cream, cheese, vegetables, or meat. This recipe features a homemade pie crust, Italian seasoning, tomatoes and broccoli.
You will need these ingredients
Place flour, salt, and unsalted butter into the food processor and pulse until the flour mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough on a floured surface and transfer it to a 10-inch pie pan. Evenly press the dough onto the bottom and sides. Prick the base with a fork several times and then stick it into the freezer.
Preheat the oven to 375° F. Line the crust with parchment paper and fill with pie weights or dry beans then bake. minutes
While the pie bakes and cools, let's make the filling! Whisk the eggs and add the seasoning.
To fill the quiche, start by layering cheese, sun dried tomatoes and then the broccoli.
Pour the egg mixture over the broccoli, sprinkle with 2 tbsp of the remaining cheese, and place the cherry tomatoes on top of the quiche. Bake until the crust on the edge is golden brown and the center is just set.
