Spinach Puffs with Feta Cheese (Puff Pastry)

Savory Spinach Feta Puff Pastry Puffs are incredibly delicious. Spinach, creamy, cheesy, and garlic-y center, baked in a butter puff pastry square, then topped up with a dash of black sesame seeds. Add these to your holiday brunch menu.

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 4 cups spinach (chop it, or baby spinach)
  • salt, to taste
  • ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 14oz pkg puff pastry
  • ½ cup feta cheese
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese grated
  • 1 egg
  • cup heavy cream
  • black sesame seeds, optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F
  • Melt the butter in a frying pan.

  • Add washed spinach, salt and pepper to taste.

  • Saute for 5 min, until the leaves are wilted and the excess water evaporated.

  • Add all ingredients along with sauteed spinach to the mixing bowl and stir to combine.

  • On a flour dusted surface, roll out the puff pastry and cut into 12 equal squares.

  • Take a cupcake tin and put a square of dough into each cell. Fill with the spinach and cheese mixture.

  • Optionally, you can brush the edges of the dough with some more heavy cream and sprinkle it with black sesame seeds.

  • Bake for 30 min.

Notes

You can store prepared puffs (before baking) for several hours in the fridge in a covered dish. After baking, these delicious spinach puffs can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
