- 1 cup rice
- 1½ cup water
- 1 Tbsp olive oil or butter
- ¼ tsp salt
Rinse the rice in a strainer beneath running water.

Heat olive oil in a saucepan.

Add rice and stir to coat it evenly with the oil.
Add water and salt. Bring the water to a boil.

Cover with a tight-fitting lid. Reduce heat to maintain a low simmer and cook for 15 minutes.
With the lid on, remove from heat and let steam for 10 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork and enjoy.
