Avocado Spread on Toast Appetizer with Tomato

Use this spread anywhere and everywhere. With chips, on toast, and with eggs.

  • 2 avocados, pit and skin removed
  • ¼ red onion, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • ½ tsp hot sauce, more or less depending on taste
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • 2 medium tomatoes, sliced

Instructions

  • Slice the avocados, take the pit out, and transfer to a food processor or blender.

  • Dice the red onion and add to the blender.

  • Mince the garlic clove.

  • Squeeze the juice out from ½ of a lemon.

  • Add hot sauce. (More or less, depending on your preference.)

  • Add a pinch of salt and pepper.

  • Blend for 1 minute until it’s pureed. (I used a Magic Bullet.)

  • Toast slices of bread. I used my homemade bread.

  • Spread the avocado mix on each slice of bread.

  • Slice the tomatoes. Add a slice of tomato on top of the avocado spread.
