Russian Braised Cabbage Recipe (Тушеная капуста)
Braised cabbage is a wonderful healthy dish but can also be added into Braised Cabbage Piroshki.

- 1 head cabbage, shredded
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 Tbsp tomato paste
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp unsalted butter
Shred cabbage into a bowl. Chop the onion and grate the carrot, then set aside in a separate bowl.
In a pan, melt the butter and add the cabbage. Saute for 1 minute.

Add in salt (I use sea salt) and tomato paste.

Over low heat sauté all together, stirring occasionally.
After 10 minutes, the cabbage will be ready to eat. You may add salt to your taste if needed.
