How To Make the Favorite Apple Almond Winter Salad with Kale

Let’s talk about salads. What do you think of when you hear the word salad? Are you imagining a bowl full of lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers? Maybe a side serving of ranch? Or a tangy vinaigrette? Maybe your thinking of Olive Garden’s never-ending salad?
Let me tell you something. Salad is so many things. I’ve got the perfect salad recipe for you. I’d reach for this Apple, Almonds, and Blue Cheese Winter Salad any day.
Ingredients You’ll Need For This Salad:
Apples. I like using golden delicious apples. If you’re wanting a more tart flavor, feel free to substitute with granny smith apples.
Blue cheese. I could munch on this for days. I love blue cheese. And it goes so well in this salad. It pairs perfectly with the juicy bites of apples.
Almonds. Adding nuts or seeds into salads is one of my favorite things. It adds texture, nuttiness, and helps to cut back the acidity from your vinaigrette. Almonds specifically are a great source of protein, healthy fats, and fibers.
Greens. I like using a spring mix in this salad to tie everything together. You could definitely opt for kale and spinach if you prefer.
Dried Cranberries. Or cherries if that’s what you have on hand. This adds a dimension of flavor and another depth of texture that really wows your mouth.
I really love this winter salad and do hope you try it at home!
