Vegan Healthy of Rice Crispy Treats (Easy Recipe)

When I was a little kid, we would make homemade rice krispy treats pretty often. It was cheaper than ready-made, and one box of cereal made enough for the whole family to have a few treats. Now that we are older, we are also smarter in choosing healthier ingredients.

Sometimes, I miss childhood where we ate anything at all and never worried about what it will do to our bodies. Nourishing our bodies and keeping them healthy wasn’t a concern. The freedom we had in eating just about anything was vast.

While those days might have felt simpler, I’m glad I know more now and can make healthier choices and teach my kids about them, too! For example: these Homemade Healthy Rice Crispy Treats. They aren’t filled with high fructose corn syrup, “natural flavors”, or other ingredients that may be hard to pronounce. My kids enjoy these treats just the same!

Key Ingredients:

healthy rice crispy treats ingredients.
  • Coconut oil– can be found in the isle where olive oil stands.
  • brown rice syrup– this is a gluten and vegan free sweet syrup, without the cane sugar.
  • creamy cashew butter – gives a nutty flavor and helps bind the crispy treats together.
  • vanilla extract– just a little, don’t skip on this.
  • crispy brown rice cereal– you can also use a different healthy version of rice cereal.
