strawberry pecan on spinach

Do you eat your fruit salads separately, or do you like adding that little touch of sweet into your greens? I like that second option, because that touch of sweet always brightens up a meal! Nuts are a pretty normal salad topping, but I think they’re underrated. There’s nothing better than a salad that has that crunch!

So naturally, this delicious salad includes nuts and fruit into your greens! If you’re ever stumped on a salad or don’t know what to do with some random on-hand ingredients, don’t forget that fruits and greens go well together!

The pecans add a boost of fiber that help with digestive health. Strawberries improve brain function and immune system and promote weight loss. As for the greens in this salad, the spinach is low in fat, cholesterol and calories. What it is high in is vitamin A, calcium, and protein!

What do I need to make this salad?

Strawberries add that touch of sweet that you never knew you were missing from your greens!

Creamy avocado fills your body with healthy fats, as well as potassium!

Leafy spinach helps to lower blood pressure and lowers your chances of getting heart disease.

Pecans pack in protein and fiber, as well as heart-healthy fats!

Feta cheese fills you with calcium, which is beneficial to your bones, muscles, and heart.

Steps

Wash spinach leaves and place on the bottom of your serving plate.

Slice strawberries into fourths, add to spinach.

Sprinkle with feta cheese and pecans.

Slice avocado, spread around on top.

Combine sugar, honey, extra virgin olive oil, and juice from 1/2 a lemon in a small bowl. Whisk together well. When ready to serve, drizzle the dressing on top.
