A common bagel topping is also great in a salad. A Smoked Salmon Avocado Feta Salad that is.

Ah, smoked salmon. I could write an essay on it. I won’t. But I could. I always have smoked salmon at home. And I’m not just saying that for the sake of saying it.

I’m pretty serious about my smoked salmon. I top my morning bagels with it. I stuff it inside of croissants that are slathered with cream cheese. I eat it straight from the package when no one is looking. Okay, I digress.

But the bottom line is this: smoked salmon is delicious. And it is the star of this recipe.

Why do I Absolutely Love This Salad?

It comes together in ten minutes. If you can get a delicious dish prepared and ready to eat in under ten minutes, I think you’ve succeeded that day. Pat yourself on the back because that is an achievement all in itself.

It is downright drool-worthy. I know the salmon is the hero here. And it’s what makes the salad right? But, the additional add-ins come together to make this salad so harmoniously delicious. From the red onions to the feta cheese, the fresh dill to the balsamic vinegar, the garlic to the dijon mustard – every single ingredient has a purpose and adds incredible flavor.

It is healthy! Salmon and avocados are both sources of heart-healthy fatty acids. Red onions contain health-promoting compounds that help with detoxification and immune health.

Next time you’re looking for a delicious salad to whip up in minutes, try this Smoked Salmon, Avocado, and Feta one. It is anything but your average salad!

What do I need to make this recipe?

Spinach has potassium, which is necessary to regulate fluid balances.

Red onion contains quercetin, which relieves allergy symptoms and reduces inflammation.

Avocado contains fiber, which lowers cholesterol levels.

Tomatoes have lycopene, which reduces the risk of heart disease.

Smoked salmon is loaded with selenium, which helps to lower stress and supports your immune system.

Feta cheese contains protein and calcium, both which are needed for healthy bones.

Along with those ingredients, you’ll need:

  • fresh dill
  • garlic clove
  • Dijon mustard
  • honey
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • balsamic vinegar
  • salt

Steps

Chop 1 cup of fresh spinach.

Chop 2 slices of red onion; add to spinach.

Slice 2 avocado; add to spinach.

Chop 1 medium tomato; add to spinach.

Chop 1 stem fresh dill; add to spinach.

Sprinkle 2 Tablespoons feta cheese over chopped vegetables.

Arrange smoked salmon on top of vegetables.

Dressing:Whisk together ½ teaspoon dijon mustard, 1 minced garlic clove, ½ teaspoon honey, 2 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, ½ teaspoon balsamic vinegar, and a small pinch of salt.
