A green kale smoothie packed with healthy fats from an avocado and tangy flavor from the pineapple.

Pineapple Kale Avocado Smoothie

Why do we drink smoothies? Do we want to feel healthier or is it just easy to put a whole meal into one simple drink? Both of these answers appeal to a lot of us, and smoothie shops easily jump on that and make smoothies with veggies, fruits, nut butters, protein powders, you-name-it into the mix.

At home, it’s not as elaborate. It’s easy to make your own smoothie, give it a creative name, and go on with your day. But the most important detail is that you know exactly what goes into it!

For example, this smoothie contains milk, honey, kale, pineapple, banana, and avocado. I recently learned that one of my favorite smoothie shops adds sugar to sweeten up their smoothies. I was surprised because homemade smoothies can easily be sweetened with agave or maple syrup, and like in this smoothie, honey! There is no need to add unnecessary sugar.

Now, even if you don’t consider yourself a green smoothie person, you will love this Pineapple Kale Avocado Smoothie. It’s made with healthy ingredients like banana, pineapple, kale, yogurt, and honey. Of course, there’s also kale, which is a superfood for all the healthy right reasons.

This healthy green smoothie sneaks in half of an avocado for the ultimate health benefits. As per Healthline, avocados are packed with:

  • 26% vitamin K
  • 20% folate
  • 17% vitamin c
  • 14% potassium
  • 14% vitamin B5
  • 13% vitamin B6
  • 10% vitamin E

Also, they contain magnesium, manganese, copper, iron, zinc, phosphorous, and vitamins A, B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), and B3 (niacin).

What are all the ingredients that go into a Pineapple Kale Avocado Smoothie?

Milk: This ingredient easily can make this smoothie dairy-free by choosing coconut milk, almond milk or milk of your choice. The same goes for the yogurt.

Fruit: pineapple, avocado, and banana.

Sweetness: honey!

Greens: kale.

and a pinch of salt for a boost of flavor.

  • 1 medium frozen banana, sliced
