This morning green smoothie will definitely put a pep in your step. It’s sweet, creamy, and oh so refreshing. Made with kale, mango chunks, bananas, and cucumbers, it’s the ultimate green smoothie.Morning Green Smoothie

I remember when green smoothies started to become all the rave. And I thought to myself, “why would anyone pay money to drink a glass full of grass?” Seriously, I did not understand the hype until I tried one. And I absolutely fell in love.

This was years ago. Now I make my own green smoothies at home. At a fraction of the cost. Plus I can control exactly what I put into my smoothies (and what I leave out).

Here are some other great benefits of making your own green smoothies at home:

  • You can choose to add sweetener to it or not. I prefer to throw frozen banana into my smoothies to naturally sweeten it instead of opting for the sugar or honey.
  • You can use up whatever fruits and veggies you have at home. Smoothies are a wonderful way to clean out your fridge.
  • It’s a great way to get your kids to eat more veggies and fruits. Now I’m not a fan of sneaking veggies into foods all the time, but making smoothies out of healthy foods and letting my children have it is a win for me. I can quickly whip up a smoothie and serve it to them as a snack.

Tips To Make A Deliciously Creamy Smoothie

Slice and freeze ripe bananas. Not only do they sweeten your smoothies, but they add a very creamy texture.

Use frozen fruits. I know some people like adding ice to their smoothies. I find using ice waters the smoothie down. Instead, use frozen fruit like bananas and mango. This gives you a cold, creamy smoothie – minus the watered-down taste.

What will I need to make this Morning Green Smoothie?

Kale is rich in vitamin A, supporting eye health and vitamin C, boosting antioxidants.

Mango fills you with beta-carotene which helps to fight free radicals.

Banana is filled with potassium, which supports muscle function and can help prevent kidney stones.

Cucumber gives your body hydration and antioxidants that fight cell damage.

Mint benefits the digestive system and supports brain health.

Along with those ingredients, you will need water and almond milk.
