Roasting cauliflower takes this vegetable from plain, not so appetizing dish, and makes it delicious. Even kids tend to prefer a roasted cauliflower over a raw, plain, tasteless one. In this recipe, cauliflower isn’t only roasted, but seasoned to perfection with olive oil, sea salt, and chili flakes, giving it that needed kick to make a boring vegetable taste great.

Different Ways to Cook Cauliflower

This root vegetable specifically has a variety of ways to cook it. For example, if you are trying to cut out meat from your diet, you can replace wings with cauliflower. Like this chili roasted cauliflower, you can roast cauliflower with any seasoning or sauce and it’s a meal in itself. Or you can combine it with any sauce you would put on chicken wings, add back to the oven until crispy and they are just as good, if not better than most wings. Buffalo, ranch, bbq, and garlic parmesan are just a few of the choices that compare to your favorite wings.

Benefits of Cauliflower Compared to Other Vegetables

With only 5g of carbs compared to 46g in brown rice per cup, it is a much healthier choice. Cauliflower can be used in place of most kinds of pasta like macaroni, but it also ranks higher in vitamins and minerals than some other vegetables like potatoes. With 25 calories per cup, this veggie is much healthier than many. In comparison to most root vegetables like onions, potatoes, carrots, etc., cauliflower has 1/3 the carbs if calories, if not more.

Vegetables Are Worth A Try

You either love or hate them, that is a guarantee. Most people undeniably hate vegetables and that’s because you hated them as children because grandma forced them on your plate, and you couldn’t leave until everything was gone, or maybe you just thought they looked icky. Most people do not ever get the opportunity to try vegetables in a way that tastes good because no one has ever cooked them properly. Sure, raw vegetables and some type of sauce can be good if you prefer them that way, but roasted, baked, grilled, and even fried can turn veggies into a dish that stands alone.
