Easy Marinated Soy Sauce Chicken with Honey and Ginger

Here’s a chicken recipe that’ll surely become a fast favorite in your home. Honey and soy sauce pair perfectly for an incredibly flavorful dish that’s unbelievably easy to make!
I’ve had an incredibly busy week. The closer it gets to the holiday season, the more it seems like the work around my house keeps piling on. As much as I absolutely love cooking, it’s nice to have those meals that come together in less than an hour. Especially when those recipes don’t compromise taste.
This honey and soy sauce chicken is definitely the perfect dish that’s quick, easy, and delicious.
You can literally count all the ingredients on one hand. I’m not even exaggerating. You might be thinking, well, this dish is probably really simple, with simple flavors. You’re right. Yes, the ingredients are quite simple, but it packs a punch!
You can taste each ingredient in every bite.
Honey. You get a sweet, aromatic flavor from the honey. It sticks to the chicken which allows the flavor to seep in thoroughly as it bakes.
Soy sauce. Skip the salt because the soy sauce provides a salty, sweet, and savory flavor. It also makes a great marinade for chicken.
Ginger spice. To add the perfect touch of spiciness.
Black pepper. For seasoning that goes a long way.
After the ingredients for the marinade come together, you let the chicken take it all in. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes. You can even marinate overnight. This will give the chicken lots of flavors and all you have to do the next day is bake and enjoy!
Directions for Honey and Soy Sauce Chicken:
- Wash the chicken and dry with a paper towel. Cut it into cubes. It’s a lot easier to cut chicken when it’s still slightly frozen.
- In a bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, and ginger. Whisk until well blended.
- Place your chicken cubes into a large Ziploc bag, add in the marinade, squeeze the air out, and zip up the bag.
- Coat the chicken with marinade by squeezing the bag all around.
- Marinate for 30 minutes. You can also marinate it overnight and cook it the next day.
- After 30 minutes, place the chicken on a baking sheet in a single layer. Line the sheet with foil or for easier cleaning.
- Pour the marinade over the chicken.
- Bake at 400F for 15-20 minutes.
- Tip: While chicken is in the oven, you can prepare rice and vegetables.
- Hope you enjoy this fast and simple chicken recipe!
