The darker the chocolate the less sugar it has. I didn’t know this till recently when I received a chocolate bar that said no sugar! And the darker the chocolate the more energy-boosting potential it has.
Dark chocolate, that is 70% or more contains iron, magnesium, copper, and fiber. It is great for boosting some energy since dark chocolate has caffeine and theobromine, both of which will boost your energy levels. This is great for someone who eating a sugar-free diet!
What do I need to make this recipe?
Rolled oats contain antioxidants and helps lower cholesterol levels.
Blueberries help reduce DNA damage and lower blood pressure.
Strawberries provide your body with vitamin C and potssium.
Along with those ingredients, you will need almonds, melted dark chocolate, and water.
Simple Berry Oatmeal with Chocolate and Almonds
- ½ cup rolled oats
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup fresh blueberries
- 5 strawberries, sliced
- ¼ cup almonds, sliced
- 1 Tbsp dark chocolate, 70% cocoa, melted
- Bring 1 cup of water to a boil.
- Add in ½ cup rolled oats to the water. Simmer on low heat for 15 minutes. Transfer to a serving plate.
- Add ½ cup fresh blueberries, 5 sliced strawberries, and ¼ cup sliced almonds to the oatmeal.
- Drizzle 1 Tablespoon dark chocolate on top.
