How To Make an Apple, Lemon, Cucumber, and Ginger Smoothie

This smoothie is loaded full of nutritious and healthy ingredients.

Apple: high in fiber and vitamin C

Coconut water: restores lost electrolytes after exercise and is low calorie. If you don’t like coconut water, you can easily substitute with plain water.

Honey: Raw and local is best.

Romaine lettuce: makes a refreshing choice of greens during the warmer season. Provides calcium, potassium, and vitamin C.

Cucumber: it’s mostly water, which helps dehydration but also packed with vitamin C and K and potassium. Use an English cucumber rather than the regular, it has a thinner skin and less bitter taste.

Ginger: the ultimate superfood virus-fighting ingredient.

Lemon: has vitamin C and great for detoxing and adding a citrus kick.

Salt: just a pinch for flavor.

Combine all ingredients together into a high speed blender, I recommend getting the vitamix if you make a lot of smoothies or blended soups. I have had mine for years and I love it.

Green Smoothie Tip

I think that green smoothies are the best when they’re served fresh, right from the blender. So if you are always on the go, you can prepare all of the ingredients by freezing them, except for the lettuce. This way you will have all ingredients on hand and ready to go.
